A regularly scheduled oral hygiene routine is the best way to protect your pet’s dental health.
How it works
The soft bristles are held against the teeth/gums allowing your pet’s teeth to be cleaned gently without the irritation of vibration or noise. It helps to protect your pet from oral disease and tooth loss.
Ultrasound reaches deep (12mm) below the gum line to kill germs and bacteria and cleans the teeth and gums to prevent the build-up of plaque and tartar. At the same time, it increases the blood flow to the gums to heal wounds and stop bleeding.
Effectively combats
Gingivitis and periodontitis
Oral cavity diseases
Plaque and tartar build-up
Bad breath
If there is plaque/tartar present, we may recommend that you start with a course of intensive treatment.
However, if your dog’s teeth are significantly scaled we would recommend a trip to the vet to check whether a dental descale (under general anaesthetic) would be advisable and then continue with a regular programme of ultrasonic teeth cleaning to maintain your dog’s dental health.
Ultrasonic teeth cleaning during your dog’s grooming sessions can be better for some dogs as we can take a little and often approach which helps them get used to the treatment.
Treatment Options
You can choose from a range of packages. For best results we recommend an intensive treatment package to reduce accumulated tartar followed by regular maintenance sessions to prevent future plaque build up.
Intensive Treatment to Reduce Plaque
Initial consultation lasting 30 minutes to assess the state of the teeth and provide a specific toothbrush for the dog.
Five to fifteen follow up sessions lasting 15 to 20 minutes each on an at least weekly basis (where possible) but it is recommended that more frequently should be undertaken where possible.
Maintenance Sessions
20 to 30 minute sessions to help keep plaque at bay. These sessions can be booked individually or booked in addition to a groom or wash and dry.
